We’re just about to get underway at Ottawa University Lees Dome this evening and fall leagues at that venue will all start within the next week. 209 of our 210 fall league teams are sold out* and we are opening registration for our winter leagues. As always we will have a short presale for our existing captains to give them a chance to lock down their spot before we open them up to the general public. Individual registration will be available one week after team registration opens.
- Current Captain’s Pre-Sale: Now Open
- Team Registration: Opens December 8th, 9am
- Individual Registration: Opens December 15th, 9am
* We have one team space left in our Sunday Men’s League at Ottawa U. If anyone has a team looking to play, contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
League Details – Winter 2015
Most of our winter leagues will be continuations of the same leagues that are currently running in fall and details of those can be found below. We also have some new options starting in the new year.
Winter 2015 – New Leagues
Fieldhouse at Carleton University – Fri
The Fieldhouse at Carleton University has just been returfed and we’ll have our first games on the new venue in the new year on our traditional Friday evenings. The men’s league will begin on January 2nd and registration is currently open for teams and for individuals.
Women’s League at Louis Riel/Hornet’s Nest – Sun
Our women’s league will run on Sunday afternoons at the Bearbrook Road domes and will begin on February 1st. The eleven game season will cost $1700 per team.
Additional Coed League at Louis Riel/Hornet’s Nest – Tue and Wed
With some additional field allocations available to us in the new year, we’ve been able to add a couple of new leagues in Gloucester to try to meet the demand for spaces at these venues. As well as our continuing Wednesday leagues at Gloucester and at the Lees Dome, we’ll be adding a THIRD Wednesday coed league beginning slightly later in the season on February 25th. Our final winter coed league will be a new Tuesday coed option beginning on the 10th of March at Louis Riel/Hornet’s Nest. The 9 week season is our most inexpensive fall/winter league and will finish just in time for the start of spring footy!
Winter 2015 – Existing leagues
Ottawa University – Mon, Wed, Fri and Sun
The first of our fall leagues at the Ottawa University Lees Dome starts this evening, and all of the Lees Dome fall leagues will have winter leagues following them on the same days. We’ll be offering coed on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and coed and men’s on Sundays. All of the Ottawa University leagues are scheduled to begin 6th-11th of February. Pricing, game and season length and game times are the same as in the fall leagues.
Gloucester Domes – Mon, Tue, Wed, Thur, Sun
The Hornet’s Nest and Louis Riel Dome have been league venues for as long as Footy Sevens has been in existence and winter 2015 will be no exception. Our Monday, Wednesday and Sunday coed and Tuesday and Thursday late evening men’s leagues have been established for a number of years and will be back again this winter. The coed leagues start Jan 25th-28th and the men’s leagues February 17th-19th. Games times, game and season lengths and pricing is the same as the fall leagues.
