We will be running our first charity tournament in Gatineau on Saturday 14th of September. The “Play From the Heart” Tournament will be in aid of the Heart and Stroke Foundation with 100% of all team fees and donations going directly to the charity. It takes place at the brand new Complexe Branchaud-Briere and will be one of the very first soccer events to be held at the spectacular new $33m venue.
The format is a one day, 7 vs 7 coed soccer tournament, with each team guaranteed to play a minimum of 3 x 30 minute games on Saturday afternoon. Registration is now open to all teams and teams can register at www.ottawafootysevens.com for a minimum donation of $200. Individual registration is also available for a donation of $25 or more, and teams will be formed from the individuals to enable everyone to play whether they have a full team or not.
Details and directions to the new Complexe Branchaud-Briere can be found in an earlier post on our blog or by e-mailing chris@ottawafootysevens.com
All teams will participate in a 4 teams group section and play a minimum of three games. Games are 30 minutes long and all teams must have 7 players including at least a minimum of two male and two female players on the field at all time.
The top 8 teams will participate in the knock-out stages of the tournament early on Saturday evening.
All of the money raised will be donated to the Heart and Stroke Foundation in Gatineau, and because Ottawa Footy Sevens is sponsoring the rental of the field, trophy and referees, every single penny of your tournament fee will go directly to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
Contact chris@ottawafootysevens.com if you have any further questions on the tournament.
