Winter Leagues 2016 – Last Chance for Captains' Pre-sale

Ottawa Footy Sevens
Ottawa had it’s first snowfall of the year yesterday and the last of our Fall leagues got underway this past week with 110 teams playing grading games at the Ottawa University Lees Dome. All of our fall leagues are completely sold out other than 2 male and 1 female individual spaces for the Friday coed league at the Lees Dome. Go to the Footy Sevens Website if you want to grab one of those individual spots.
With the Fall leagues up and running we’re moving on to the registration for the winter leagues. As always most of our current fall leagues have a corresponding winter season starting in the new year and most teams should be able to transition from the fall to winter season on the same night a the same venue.
If any of our current captains would like to guarantee their team’s spot before we open them to general public, they have about 48 hours left to put their deposit down during the captains’ pre-sale. Either click the invite button on the Footy Sevens Website or contact

  • Current Captain’s Pre-Sale: Now Open
  • Team Registration: Opens this Friday, November 27th, 9am
  • Individual Registration: Opens December 4th, 12pm.

League Details – Winter 2016

Most of our winter leagues will be continuations of the same leagues that are currently running in fall and details of those can be found below.

Ottawa University – Mon, Wed, Fri and Sun

All of the Lees Dome fall leagues will have winter leagues following them on the same days. We’ll be offering coed on Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, Friday and men’s on Sundays and Fridays. All of the Ottawa University leagues are scheduled to begin in February.

Gloucester Domes – Mon, Tue, Wed, Thur, Sun

The Hornet’s Nest and Louis Riel Dome have been league venues for as long as Footy Sevens has been in existence and winter 2016 will be no exception. Our Monday, Wednesday and Sunday coed and Tuesday late evening men’s leagues have been established for a number of years and will be back again this winter, continuing on from the current fall season. The coed leagues start in the final week of January and the men’s league on February 9th.

Friday Men’s Soccer

There will NOT be a winter season of the Friday Men’s league at the Carleton fieldhouse due to the venue becoming an exam hall for the whole of April. We will still be providing a Friday night men’s option over at the Ottawa Lees Dome and this league will begin in late February.

Volleyball, Floor Hockey, Dodgeball & Basketball

We’ve got 5 evenings of volleyball as well as dodgeball, floor hockey and basketball available over at our Ottawa Court and Turf website. The Thursday volleyball league at Carleton University is already sold out but there are still team and individual spaces available in our other leagues.

For registration and information on all leagues go to the Ottawa Footy Sevens Website or drop us an e-mail.
For information on our winter volleyball and indoor sports leagues, go to the Ottawa Court and Turf site.
