Yesterday saw the first night of our fall 90 minute soccer league at Complexe Branchaud-Briere and we had some great games to start us off, with MD United against Anonymous definitely being the pick of the bunch. In an end to end battle MD United took a 3-2 lead before holding off a frantic final push by Anonymous which pushed them back into their own box but didn’t lead to a tying goal. Black Mambas, Pumas, UAC and The Stainers also got off to a perfect start.
Room Service?. . . Changing room service, that is!
The real star of the show was the venue itself, with a brand new indoor turf field, changing rooms for each team and a bar/restaurant and cafe. Even though we see literally thousands of 7-a-side games every year, watching the games from the 3rd floor restaurant is a pretty unique view point, even for us. One thing neither us or the teams were expecting was waiter service with a cart of ice cold beer brought right to the changing rooms: it was definitely much appreciated by some of the players after a hard 90 minutes of footy.
We’d like to say thank you to the management and staff who have made us feel very welcome already and we look forward to playing there for many years to come.
All of the photos from last night are available on our online photo gallery.
