As the first of the spring leagues enter their final playoff week, registrations are coming in thick and fast for our summer and early fall leagues. In Spring everyone was caught out by how quickly the leagues sold out and a number of teams missed out on their regular league evening and venue. To try to help you gauge how quick you need to canvas your teammates and get your registration in, here is a quick registration update on all of our summer leagues.
Mondays and Wednesdays
The initial demand for our Gloucester leagues has been overwhelming, with Wednesdays already sold out with 30 teams registered and Mondays almost full with 27 teams already signed up. Despite there being almost 7 weeks until kick-off in our only midweek outdoor league, at Carleton U, only 4 team spots remain. There are a few individual spots available in all leagues.
Tuesday and Thursday Coed
We’ve had a great first season at Ben Franklin Dome, and both leagues have one week of playoffs remaining. The new seasons start in less than 2 weeks and there are only two team slots available on Tuesdays and ONE spot left on Thursdays. The last couple of individual spots are also available.
Fridays
The Friday league at Carleton has currently sold out but we are currently waiting on final confirmation of some additional field time. We expect that we will be able to expand the league by another half-dozen teams or so, but will not take registrations until we have the time completely finalised. If and when the new time is confirmed, teams will be allocated from the waitlist on a first come – first served basis. If you have not yet registered and wish to be added to the waitlist, please e-mail us at admin@ottawafootysevens.com.
Sundays
Although it’s over 3 weeks until the start of our Sunday league at Carleton U, we have almost 30 teams already registered and it is on course to be our biggest league of the year with an expected 40 teams taking part. Over at the Louis Riel Dome in Gloucester, we’ll have a second (indoor) Sunday league starting in late August and there are still a plenty of spaces available in it at them moment.
Women’s and Men’s Leagues
Both the Tuesday Women’s and Thursday Men’s leagues are about to go into playoffs, and we’ll be continuing both leagues at the same venue though the summer and early fall. Registration for the new leagues has been brisk and both have only 4 or 5 spots remaining to be filled. We do not have the Ottawa U field available on Fridays in the fall, and we will not be able to continue our Friday evening Women’s league, but we have added a brand new Women’s league on Sunday evenings at the Louis Riel Dome in Gloucester. Registration is now open.

Volleyball:
Don’t forget that we also have our Volleyball leagues at Carleton University and the new seasons will be starting in September. Registration has just opened for our Thursday evening league, and we hope to open registration for Tuesday’s soon. For details and registration go to www.ottawavolleysixes.com.
