Over to Matt Anthony Field @uOttawa again and back to the Sunday league. We were lucky enough to be the first users of the field, but it always takes a little while for the infill to “play-in” and settle on a turf field. As the ball was casually slipped by the advancing goalie, his attempts to stop kicked up a pretty cool looking spray. It looks like muddy water on a wet day, but the weather was glorious that day and the spray is actually the rubber/silicon particle that fill the gaps between the artificial blades of turf.
Although our next Sunday leagues don’t start until February, we have only 6 team spots left in the Louis Riel League and the last few spots tend to disappear quite quickly. The last 8 spots in the Monday league were all snapped up within 24 hours last week, so if you are planning to join the Sunday Winter League at Louis Riel, we would advise to get onto it pretty soon to avoid disappointment.
Remember if it’s you that we’ve tacked the Santa hat* onto, drop us a tweet @OttawaFooty7s and we’ll send you an Ottawa Footy Sevens shirt.

*Or we may shove on a big snowman’s top hat. Who knows? It depends upon how whimsical we’re feeling at the time . . .
