Saturday’s Kicking Cancer’s Butt 8 raised the highest ever amount in the 8-year history of the tournament with an incredible $15,110 going to the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation. Despite the lack of sunshine and the intermittent rain, the 32 teams just kept giving, surpassing the $13,300 raised in 2013 and taking the total raised in the past 8 years to over $88,000. Here’s to breaking the $100,000 barrier next year at Kicking Cancer’s Butt 9.
Team Grayson also set a new record for the most raised by a single team with $2,915 donated, as well as setting the record for the largest team photo we’ve ever taken! (see below). Long-time supporters I’ll Have Another and grASSkickers also went above and beyond with a $1,275 and $1,195 respectively. A heartfelt thank you to all of the teams and the players and supporters who donated to them, as well as the referees and organisers who volunteered their time to make sure that ever single penny of every donation continues to go straight to the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation.
The ORCF donation site is still open and any last minute donations can still be made here.
We’ve got some great photos of many the teams and the on-field heroics, and you can find the team photos below. We’ll publish another post tomorrow with a round-up of what happened on the field along with action shots from throughout the day’s games.
