Those of you who have been on campus at Carleton University recently may have noticed something odd. When the snow melted in the stadium, the field had apparently disappeared!
What had actually happened, of course, was that the old turf had been removed just before the snow fell in preparation for a brand new turf field at MNP Park. Work has already begun on the new field and we are looking forward to kicking off our spring seasons at another fantastic new facility.
We already have over 150 teams registered to play at Carleton this spring and if you would like to join us we still have a few team spaces available.
The Monday, Wednesday and Sunday evening 90 minute leagues are already sold out at CU, but we still have a few spaces available in our Friday and Sunday afternoon leagues.
At other venues, our indoor coed leagues are also close to selling out: Mondays and Thursdays are full. However, we still have a handful of spaces in our Wednesday and Sunday leagues at the Louis Riel Dome/Hornet’s Nest in Gloucester.
We have four men’s leagues available this summer. 11-a-sides at Ottawa University and Sunday 7-a-sides at Carleton U are both down to a single remaining space and once they are gone they are gone. There is still availability for our Tuesday indoor and Friday outdoor leagues.
The Tuesday outdoor league at SPPC is sold out.
If you are looking for something other than soccer, don’t forget that we have a wide range of Beach Volleyball, Court Volleyball, Ball Hockey, Flag Football and Ultimate leagues available over at our Ottawa Court and Turf website.
7th Annual Kicking Cancer’s Butt charity tournament
Registration will open this Saturday (April 23rd) for our annual coed 7-a-side tournament. The tournament has raised over $60,000 for the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation during the past 6 years and this year’s tournament takes place at Carleton U on Saturday the 11th of June.
