Sun sets on 2,500 Summer Soccer Soccer Contests

Ottawa Footy Sevens Sunday LeagueWhen the final whistles blew just before 11pm last night at a chilly, damp Keith Harris Stadium, it brought the curtain down on Ottawa Footy Sevens’ spring and summer seasons. Met U, Goalfinger, False Madrid, Deep Threat, Glengarry United and Blue Crush were the teams closing out six months of spring and summer soccer that began back in May with the Incredible Hulks vs Return of the Wildcats at the same venue.
The three games were the last of an incredible TWO THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED AND SIXTEEN Footy Sevens games which took place at various venues across Ottawa this summer, and the last of our outdoor games for 2012 (Not a moment too soon, judging by the weather forecast!).
We would just like to say a massive thank you to everyone who took part in our various coed, men’s and women’s league over the summer and we look forward to seeing you out at the domes during the fall and winter season.
Good luck in your new leagues,
The Footy Sevens Team

  1. And a big thank you to Ottawa Footy 7s for doing an incredible job managing so many leagues. Thinking back a couple summers ago when I was stuck shooting at flag poles on ‘fields’ full of craters…it’s amazing how times have changed. I for one appreciate having such well-run leagues in which to participate. Keep it up!
