The Bee Sharps – Killer Bees first off the mark for Kicking Cancer's Butt 5

Killer Bees first to register for 2014

Footy Sevens stalwarts and Kicking Cancer’s Butt regulars The Killer Bees had the honour of being the first team to register for the 2014 Kicking Cancer’s Butt tournament.
They are one of 15 teams already registered for the 2015 tournament, putting us well on our way towards reaching the milestone of raising $50,000 for the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation in the first 5 years of the tournament. Kicking Cancer’s Butt 5 takes place at the Louis Riel Dome on Friday May 30th and Saturday May 31st and as always every penny of every entry fee goes directly to the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation. For details of this year’s tournament see our earlier blog post or, if you’d like to contribute to this great cause you can sign up your team at the Footy Sevens Website, join one of the individual teams for the tournament or make a donation at the ORCF fundraising site for the tournament.
Last year Oceans Eleven were the first team to register, bringing on a deluge of O11 movie related puns, but we’ll show a little more restraint this year and restrict ourselves to the single rather tenuous one in the title and some heartfelt thanks to the Killer Bees and all of the other teams that have registered so far.

Kicking Cancer’s Butt 2014

Kicking Cancer's Butt Tournament 2014
Our annual charity coed soccer tournament, Kicking Cancer’s Butt 5, will be back again for 2014. Last year saw 38 teams raise over $13.000 for the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation. Since it’s inception in 2010, the tournament have raised an incredible $37,000 , and this year we’ll be hoping to break through the $50,000 barrier.
As always the tournament will be a coed 7-a-side soccer tournament and 100% of every entry fee will be donated directly to the ORCF. The minimum donation is $250 per team, but we would encourage each team to donate as much as they can to a very worthy and local cause. the tournament is for coed teams, and all teams will play a minimum of 3 x 30 minute games. Teams can choose one of three slots to play their round robin games: Friday 6.30-10pm, Saturday 10-2pm or Saturday 2-6.30pm and the knock out stages for all teams will take place on early Saturday evening.
