Thursday saw Dyslexia United claim the first Spring league title of the year with a 6-3 final victory over The Brigade at Ben Franklin Dome. Boasting a hundred percent record going into the final, Dyslexia never looked like letting the title slip from their grasp and ran out comfortable winners. Killer Bees claimed 3rd place over Captain Pony’s Rainbow Squad. In Division B Vicious and Delicious defeated Right in the Feelings by the narrowest of margins with a 3-2 victory. The Matadors, Ginyu Force and The Ball Busters also claimed their respective divisions. The summer season begins on Thursday and Dyslexia United will face a stiff challenge from Black Thunder who are switching to Thursdays after compiling their own unbeaten record in the Tuesday league.
For the new season, we have one final team spot available for the Thursday league at Ben Franklin Dome and some of the other leagues are already sold out or on the verge of selling out.
Louis Riel and Hornet’s Nest Dome
Our 90 minute games in the east of the city are always popular. Wednesdays has already sold out with 36 teams ready to go on the 24th of July. On Mondays 30 teams are already signed up but a handful of team spaces are still available for registration. Although Sundays don’t start until the middle of August, they are already half-way to selling out.
Carleton University
Both the Friday and Sunday leagues at Carleton University’s Raven Field have already sold out.
Ben Franklin Dome
Thursdays has one spot remaining while, Wednesday Coed and Tuesday Men’s still have team and individual spaces available.
Ottawa Internationals Fields at Hillcrest High School & Franco Cite
Our newest venue has two fantastic outdoor turf fields across the road from each other on Smyth Road and will be our only 11-a-side league for the Fall season. The Men’s 11-a-side league will be on Sunday afternoons from mid-August onwards and there are still team slots available.
Fall and Winter Leagues:
Our pricing and schedule for our Fall leagues is now online and can be found on the Ottawa Footy Sevens website.
Good luck for the playoffs and for the summer seasons.
