Footy Sevens are delighted to announce that we are about to expand with the launch of Toronto Footy Sevens in the GTA at a brand new purpose built field in Brampton.
We’ll be launching coed, men’s and women’s leagues at the start of September at the PDSB‘s Heart Lake Secondary School in central Brampton. The new field will feature four fully lined 7-a-side fields with divider nets and and a custom designed LED lighting system to make it as bright and as energy efficient as possible.
For the turf we’ve chosen Fieldturf’s Revolution 360 turf, the same turf the Seattle Sounders, Portland Timbers and New England Revolution of the MLS and the Seattle Seahawks and both Superbowl participants, the Patriots and Falcons, have chosen for their stadiums.
It’s an exciting development for Footy Sevens as it is an expansion to a new city from our Ottawa roots and represents the first time that we have had a field of our own rather than renting fields for our leagues.
It won’t affect any of the leagues here in Ottawa, we’ll still be offering the same great range of leagues in Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter in our normal venues.
However, if any of you are moving to Brampton, Mississauga or the east end of Toronto we hope to see you on the field down there. And if any of you are enjoying playing footy in Ottawa and would recommend, like, follow, share, tweet or email us to friends in the GTA we would be very much appreciative. If you recommend us to a friend who registers a team at Toronto Footy Sevens, we’ll even give your team a “bounty” with money off their next season for the referral. More details on that at a later date.
