We were lucky enough to get a chance to attend the ribbon cutting at the brand new indoor soccer venue in Gatineau last week and it is going to be an absolutely spectacular place to play. As well as the two ice rinks, the building houses a top of the line, full size indoor turf field. The field is in a building, rather than a dome, which will make it a unique venue for the capital region as the only full size field housed within a free standing building. The building is ready, and the flooring is in place for the turf installation. Once the turf is down it’s going to be the best venue in the region, with electronic scoreboards for each 7-a-side field, dividing nets, high ceilings and an upstairs viewing gallery. We can’t wait to get started at the venue, and now that we know it will definitely be ready, we are hosting a one-day charity soccer tournament in September as a precursor to our fall and winter leagues.
The Complexe Branchaud Briere is approximately 17 minutes from Parliament Hill.
September 14th Coed 7-a-side tournament in aid of the Heart and Stroke Foundation
Following on from the success of our annual Kicking Cancer’s Butt tournament in Ottawa, this will be our first Gatineau tournament. The tournament will be coed 7-a-side and will take place on Saturday 14th of September. We’ll have full details online tomorrow and registration will open this weekend.
Coed 60 and 90 minute 7-a-side leagues
Starting in the first week of October, we’re delighted to be able to offer 2 league nights of coed soccer at such a great venue. We’re doing something a little different on Tuesdays by offering the only fall and winter 90 minute league in the region for those of you who prefer a longer league game in summer AND winter. Kick-offs will be 7, 8.30 and 10pm and we have enough space for up to 18 teams.
Thursdays will feature 60 minute games with kick off times at 7, 8, 9, 10 & 11pm.
Details and registration for all of our fall leagues can be found at www.ottawafootysevens.com.
