Ottawa Footy Sevens Announce New Downtown Venue

Coed Soccer League
Ottawa Footy Sevens is delighted to announce a fantastic new venue in the heart of the city.
The brand new, state of the art 4G turf field will be installed at École Secondaire Publique De La Salle on Old St Patrick Street in downtown Ottawa. We already have a long standing relationship with Conseil des écoles publiques de l’Est de l’Ontario (CEPEO) as a major tenant of the Louis Riel Dome and look forward to expanding this relationship as the anchor tenant of the brand new project.
The new field is part of project that will bring exceptional sport and leisure options to the downtown and Lowertown Ottawa areas. The construction on the new field will begin in early April with completion scheduled for mid to late May. The field will be the latest generation of turf and will be fully lined and equipped for both 11-a-side and 7-a-side soccer.
As the anchor tenant we will be offering 7-a-side soccer, 7 days a week, ushering in a new era for Ottawa Footy Sevens. It will be the first time that we can offer such an extensive program of outdoor recreational 7-a-side soccer leagues on weekdays and weekends.
The field itself will be of the highest quality and the location could not be better. It is situated just off King Edward Avenue on Old St. Patrick Street and is literally just a few hundred meters from the Byward Market and a few minutes walk from dozens of restaurants and patios. As well as the excellent public transport links, it is 5 minutes from the 417 via Nicholas Street or Vanier Parkway and 2 minutes from the MacDonald-Cartier Bridge to Gatineau.
Full details will follow once the official announcement has been made and more information will be available on the Ottawa Footy Sevens Website, or by e-mail.

    1. Finally indeed, Seb!
It was an odd situation for us opening registration on a venue that we couldn’t share. We always try to make sure that everything is completely transparent when we run a league and that players know the days, kick off times, number of games and EXACT venue before they sign up. However, we are working in partnership with CEPEO and we are looking forward to the relationship so we didn’t want to say a word until they were happy for us to announce the venue.
We’ve already got 80 teams registered for “Downtown Abbey” and we are looking forward to it immensely.
Looks like we are going to have another new venue to announce for the summer season too . . . stay tuned for that one once we launch summer registration.
