Footy Sevens Winter League Line-Up

7-a-side Coed Soccer
When our Friday League kicks off tomorrow at the Carleton University Fieldhouse, all of our fall leagues will be underway (other than the three leagues pushed back to January by the delayed opening of Ottawa University’s Lees Dome. Here’s a look at what we have to offer during the winter months. Early bird team registration for current captains is currently open and available at the Footy Sevens website. Registration for all other teams will open on Monday November 18th at 8.30am. As always all team spots can be reserved with a $250 deposit. Individual player registration will be available from Monday 25th of November onwards.

Ottawa University’s Lees Dome

The delayed fall leagues will be kicking off  in the first week of January and although the leagues were completely sold out, we now have a couple of spots available as a few teams have transferred over to some of our other leagues. We have coed on Mondays and Sundays as well as men’s on Sunday afternoons. We’ll keep you updated should there be any further developments and once we know when the dome will be closing in spring, we’ll decide if there will be another league at this venue or we may hold a Champions League-style cup competition late in the winter, so stay tuned for more details.

Complexe Branchaud-Briere

We had a blast playing at the area’s swankiest venue since September, and we’ll have coed winter leagues starting in mid-January. Tuesday and Thursday will again be our featured nights in Gatineau and it will be 60 minute coed league on both evenings, priced at $1600 for a 12-week season for teams and $180 for individuals.

Louis Riel Dome/Hornet’s Nest

Ah, old faithful! Footy Sevens started at Louis Riel Dome and has been running year-round coed leagues at the two domes on Bearbrook Road since the start. As always we’ll have coed on Monday, Wednesday and Sunday evenings ($1600 per team/$180 for individuals). Wednesdays start on January 22nd and Sundays and Mondays follow on the 2nd and 3rd of February respectively.
We also have men’s leagues on Saturdays and our popular Tuesday late league featuring 10 and 11pm kick-offs. Both of those leagues begin in February and cost $1500 per team and $170 per individual.

Fieldhouse at Carleton University

The current fall league will run through until the end of February and we will be following it up with a new venture for us, an indoor/outdoor league which will begin indoors at the fieldhouse for the duration of March and transfer outside to Keith Harris Stadium as soon as the snow clears and play outdoors until May and the start of the spring leagues. The league will give everyone their first chance to get outdoors in 2014 and should be an exciting addition to our line-up. We still have a few t’s to cross and i’s to dot before we can confirm the final price, full details will follow once we have confirmed the final dates at the end of the season.

Volleyball

For those of you more adept at getting the ball over, rather than into the net, our sister company, Ottawa Volley Sixes has coed volleyball leagues on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesday and Thursdays at 4 great venues across the city. Our winter leagues start in January and February at Carleton University, Ashbury College and our newest venue at Redeemer Christian High School on Colonnade Road. 2013 has been our biggest ever year, and we appreciate all of your continued support and participation and we’re looking forward to an even bigger and better 2014.
